The Future of Superyachts Conference
The inaugural "Future of Superyachts Conference" organised by Quaynote Communications and sponsored by the Isle of Man Marine Administration took place in Nice in March 2006. The Isle of Man had strong representation at the conference; in addition to the Minister of Trade and Industry and representatives of the Marine Administration, there were several members of the Manx Yacht Forum in attendance as speakers, exhibitors and delegates. The Minister said, "This conference was aimed at financiers, specialist lawyers, marine insurers, superyacht managers, builders, registration companies, regulators and consultants. It was essential for those wishing to maximise their gains in this rapidly growing industry." "This is a key growth areas for the island; we currently have 32 commercial yachts on the regiter and are presently working on 33 more for Isle of Man registration." "The main focus of the conference was on tax-efficient acquisition vehicles, fractional ownership schemes, yacht registration, yacht management and legal and safety issues." "With such a high number of people from the Island, the Isle of Man delegation could advise on all the fiscal benefits the Island has to offer." "With targeted networking opportunities, round table discussions on industry related topics and one-to-one client meetings timetabled into the conference, service providers had the opportunity to meet with clients, lawyers, financiers and yacht brokers. It was a very productive couple of days for all attendees with the added bonus of another superyacht being confirmed for the register." Conference Brochure Conference Delegates |
